Big Bottom Baggies vs single-use baggies

You are a very conscientious family and every member diligently packs a lunch of healthy items.

Possibly 3 days in the week you will pack lunches and the other two days you might go out.  For those lunches you use 3 single-use baggies.

  • 1 for a sandwich or bagel,
  • 1 for cut up veggies
  • 1 for a salty snack like pretzels or fishy crackers (other snacks could be a fruit or muffin).

3 Baggies x 3 days a week x 49 weeks (leaving 3 weeks for vacation) = 441 single-use baggies be it a clear plastic baggie or a prepackaged food/snack.  This creates the potential of 441 single-use baggies thrown into the garbage by ONE PERSON in one year.  If applied to a 4-member family that would be 4 people x 441 single-use baggies = 1764 single-use baggies used by a typical family in one year.

OR!

A family of four can each use 3 machine washable/reusable baggies every day which comes out to 12 Big Bottom Baggies for the full year.  The difference in the landfill?  Minus 1752 pieces of plastic each year!

What are you leaving behind?  Big Bottom Baggies are worth the investment.  Join me in this little change and give our future a thumbs up!  I’ve made it easy and fun with my sturdy Big Bottom Baggie designs for all members of the family.
