WAXED CANVAS & DENIM TOTE – Commuter Tote with Bottle Guard

Busy people need practical and reliable tools to have life go smoothly.  Moving from home to school carpool, to work, to pickup and after school activities it is a whirlwind of activity.  It also is one of the reasons I created this Commuter Tote with a Bottle guard.  I use it all the time.  Even when I am just moving from my house to my studio, my hands are always full and typically have no room for some essentials that need to come with me.  My coffee/water bottle being a crucial one.  This bag is not too big nor too small.  Just right.  The Bottle Guard helps keep my coffee travel mug and/or my 40oz water bottle upright and moves out of the way when I need to fill my tote with other items.  It also has two outer pockets for those items that I don’t want to fall to the bottom of my bag.  This tote is small enough to fit snugly on my shoulder and not get too heavy yet large enough to carry my iPad Pro along with books or a sweater.  I just pack it up and make sure it is always with me.

Waxed canvas is a tried-and-true water-resistant treatment to cotton fabric and especially canvas because of its durability.   Waxed canvas was first used by sailors to make their sails more efficient and then for their outer wear to help keep them dry.  This translated to a useful method of waterproofing fabric in many applications.  Experiencing a resurgence as we all are looking to minimize our use of plastics and animal skins, waxed canvas is proving it is again a choice product not just for the outdoorsman but also for our everyday practical needs.
