If you follow me on instagram you will know that I just completed a commissioned quilt.  First requested in 2013 I made the original specifically for the buyer who came back to me this year and asked if I could make another.  These are always tender experiences.  This time created for a baby entering an unsettled world with writings of dreams and whimsey.

Whimsey is not for the weak-minded.  It is for those who have the courage to think and act differently.

ps.  You may have noticed that ALL of the quilts I sell, commissioned and otherwise, come with the option for you to write your own love message to the little individual who you are giving it to.  I add a plain pocket on the back of the quilt with instructions and the appropriate pens (included) with your purchase.  It miraculously changes from a simple blanket to a dear inheritance piece.  This note will endure as long as the quilt.

These blankets, handmade by me, are to be used and loved and hopefully become just a teeny bit threadbare.  I feel a quilt is like a long hug.  Especially when you have to be far away.
